What is Actagate? (3 minutes)

This page helps new users understand how to handle an internal request with Actagate. Allow about three minutes to read the flow, then follow the guide for your role.

Keep requests, approvals, execution, and the ledger together

Section titled “Keep requests, approvals, execution, and the ledger together”

A catalog item defines a request form, an approval route, and the work to perform after approval. For time-limited access, approvers review the target, cost, and expiry. After approval, a connected API performs the work, or a person follows a runbook and records evidence.

Request, approval, execution, and ledger flow
Define the change in a request, execute the approved plan, and record the issued item in the ledger.

Execution must match the approved plan. The ledger records the recipient, issued item, source request, cost, and expiry. After expiry, a page read or event starts revocation processing. If the connection is unavailable, a person receives a revocation runbook task.

Level When to use it What is recorded
L0 Stamp Add :actagate: to a Slack message to record agreement in chat Who agreed, when, to what, and the message link
L1 Declaration Use /actagate declare in Slack to start without waiting for approval. Your manager has 24 hours to stop it Declaration, veto deadline, and reason if stopped
L2 Request Submit a catalog form, obtain approval, and execute the plan Execution plan, approval at each step, execution result, and ledger

A stamp does not trigger automatic execution in place of a formal request. Promote it to an L2 request when needed.

Web and email support L2 requests, approvals, execution, and the ledger. Open the Web app from an email notification to approve. Connecting Slack brings notifications and approval cards to Slack and enables L0 stamps and L1 declarations.

Include the work after approval and its records

Section titled “Include the work after approval and its records”

When choosing an approval workflow, check whether it covers execution and revocation. Actagate combines the approval route with the changes to execute and the items those changes issue.

The catalog and fulfillment approach is shared with ServiceNow. Actagate is intended for organizations that want to start with a small approval route without a dedicated operations team. Check the required connections and runbooks before deciding which existing systems to replace.

Administrators can prepare their first request with the rollout checklist. Requesters and approvers can try submission, approval, and review in the first-week guide.
