Respond to a declaration

This page is for managers. Review a declaration from a direct report, and use the veto within the 24-hour deadline only if there is a problem.

  1. Read the declaration card delivered in Slack. You can check its content and deadline 24 hours after creation.
  2. If it is acceptable, leave it without taking action. A read or event after expiry confirms the declaration.

Declarations are separate from normal request approval. The manager is fixed when the declaration is created. There is no approval action for declarations in the approval queue or requests list.

  1. If the activity should stop, select “🛑 Stop” on the card. The reason form opens.
  2. Enter and submit the required reason, up to 1,000 characters. The declaration is vetoed and the declarer receives the reason.

Expired or processed declarations cannot be stopped. Even if an old card still shows the button, a veto is not accepted once the declaration has expired or been processed, and the declaration stays in effect. If you want to stop it, act before the deadline.
